Las Chafiras – Tuesday 26th February 2019 (John Tomlinson)

After arriving at the airport and boarding the coach for the journey to our hotel, I was aware that we would drive past a shopping complex, which included a car wash.
Displayed on top of a car wash is the following British Agusta-Bell 47. Although the registration was cancelled by the CAA in 1997, it still wears it’s one and only ID.

It’s location is in the Los Chafiras Area Google Earth co-ordinates 28 02 51.78N 16 37 09.12W

G-ASLR Agusta-Bell 47 J-2 Ranger C/n 2057 Preserved

It was damaged Beyond Repair Bristol-Lulsgate 31 January 1996 and the registration Cancelled 28th February 1997.

I took photographs from the coach and a few days later went back to take a closer look on my way to the military museum in Santa Cruz and Tenerife North Airport.
