Florida 2022 tour added (Grant Robinson)

Florida – Fri 14th to Sun 30th October 2022
This tour has not been costed yet as it will depend heavily on the interest shown. Get in touch if interested and I’ll update you as soon as possible. It’s fair to say though that you’ll be getting plenty of bang for your buck!
Join us for two weeks spotting in the USA where this mega trip will take in three air shows, the NBAA at Orlando and an extensive road trip around a lot of Florida. As usual, we will take in as many airports, general aviation airfields, military bases (from outside), museums and wrecks & relics as possible.
The first weekend will be taken up with the two air shows at Edwards AFB and Santa Maria, whilst the third air show will be during the second weekend at NAS Jacksonville. A rare opportunity to see all of the North American main display teams in one trip – Thunderbirds, Blue Angels and the Snowbirds. The USAF 75th anniversary will be celebrated at the Edwards show and the usual sonic boom flights should happen.
After the first two air shows, we will then fly to Florida to get ready for three days of business jet action thanks to the NBAA being held in Orlando. All three days will be dedicated to visiting Orlando Executive, Orlando International Airport, Orlando/Sanford International Airport and Kissimmee/Gateway to catch as many visiting business jets as possible. We will also take in Kermit Week’s Fantasy of Flight museum but as it is off-season for them, this will require a private tour. This comes at extra cost to those wanting to do this, but will also allow you to take in the large collection that is in storage, that is not usually accessible to the public.
On the last day of NBAA, we will start the big road trip of Florida and head towards Jacksonville via Daytona Beach. Around Jacksonville, we will visit; Jacksonville International Airport, Fernandina Beach, NAS Mayport, Jacksonville/Craig Field, Jacksonville/Cecil Field, Camp Blanding Museum & St. Augustine/Northeast Florida Regional.
After the air show at NAS Jacksonville, we head to Tampa via Lake City, Gainesville, and Lakeland visiting; Lake City, Keystone Heights, Gainesville Regional, Ocala, Dunnellon/Marion County, Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional, Lakeland-Linder (Florida Air Museum), Tampa Executive, Clearwater Airpark, St. Pete–Clearwater, Sarasota-Bradenton & Tampa International Airport.
Tampa has been comprehensively done by now, so we head South towards Fort Myers and then head across the Everglades towards Miami via stops at; Punta Gorda, Fort Myers/Page Field, Fort Myers/Southwest Florida International, Naples and finishing at Miami International Airport.
To boost the numbers of business jets and airliners to be seen, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach is the perfect place to spend time at; Miami International Airport, Tamiami/Miami Executive (Wings Over Miami Museum), Miami-Opa Locka Executive, North Perry, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Fort Lauderdale Executive, Pompano Beach Airpark, Boca Raton, Palm Beach County Park and West Palm Beach.
We finish by heading back to Orlando with stops at; Stuart/Witham Field, Fort Pierce/Treasure Coast International, Vero Beach, Melbourne-Orlando International Airport, Patrick AFB, Merritt Island and Titusville/Space Coast Regional (Valiant Air Command Museum).
Tour cost is TBC. It can cover flights (unless you want to book them), 15 nights accommodation, ground transport, fuel, entrance to the air shows and the museums
