Hi all,
Having just gotten back from a 6 day trip around Bulgaria, I was sadly unable to devote enough time to a full day at the Midlands Air Festival. Looking at the schedule for this event over the three days, it really is a great event nowadays. The main draw for me is always the Hot Air Balloons that attend, with a great mix of private ones that fly and retired examples that can be inflated and tethered on display over two slots during the day.
The weather forecast indicated to me that Saturday morning might be the best flying slot over the three days, and so I set off up the M40 at 04:45, in the hope of a quick smash and grab of whatever might launch. I arrived into the event car park just as they started launching, so perfect timing on my part. It was mostly done by 07:00 but I hung around to see the inflation of Dala Horse OO-BQH, the pick of the Balloons listed to be at this event for me.
