Chalgrove – Wednesday 19th December 2018 (Grant Robinson)

Hi all,

I was just finishing work and a quick check of FR24 to see what was in the area flagged up that a Chalgrove based Martin-Baker Meteor was doing some circuits of Staverton! Now even though I live not too far from Chalgrove, I have rarely seen any activity at this field, and so off I set to wait for its return. The machine in question was WA638/G-JWMA.

WA638, Gloster Meteor T.7(mod), Martin Baker, G-JWMA, United Kingdom (G5/356539)

WL419, Gloster Meteor T.7, Martin Baker, G-JSMA, United Kingdom (G5/423772)

G-BGRE, Beech 200 B200 (BB-568)
(G-JMAW), Beech 200 200GT (BY-326)
G-OSZB, Pitts S-2 S-2B (5200)

G-JMAW is assumed as I was unable to read it off but I’m certain that it was the newly delivered King Air for Martin-Baker which hasn’t broken cover yet. This was easily visible in the wide open hangar along with WL419 & G-OSZB. Old King Air G-BGRE was sat outside.
