Zhukovsky and Area – Saturday 26th August 2017 (John Tomlinson)

After our Yak flight is was off to pastures new and the next stop was the famous Zhukovsky airfield where the MAKS show is held every two years.
We would also look around the town, which is named after Nikolai Zhukovsky, the renowned scientist, known as the father of Russian aviation.
Outside of the show dates, this airfield is still home for the surviving aircraft build bureau’s, such as Mikoyan-Gurevich, Sukhoi, Antonov, Ilyushin & Tupolev and much flight
testing still goes on here. We were hoping to see a few aircraft from various vantage points. A good mix of airliners as well as other test aircraft noted.
