St Athan (South Wales Aviation Museum) – Sunday 21st July 2019 (John Tomlinson)

Only my second visit to this airfield, the main reason being for the South Wales Aviation Museum.

A friendly group who suggest a voluntary contribution of £5 for the privilege.

No one was available to take us to the outside store area, however you could see all the aircraft from various angles around the museum area. However a few items, those marked **, still need to be confirmed

When you review what is at this new museum, you can see that many exhibits have been taken from other museums, with a few that were just languishing and stored at other airfields without much love and care. This museum hopes to overcome that. In fact we were told that they will shortly receive government funding……………… and that will mean that the museum, amongst other things, get better signage to direct visitors. On this occasion it was not well sign posted.
