Tour advert for Moscow (ARMY) 2021 – Saturday 26th June to Monday 5th July 2021

Hi all,
For those of you who have expressed an interest in doing Moscow next year, then what follows will interest you. Unconfirmed dates that I’m working to at the moment are Saturday 26th June to Monday 5th July 2021 as the the ARMY 2021 expo dates have been gained from unofficial sources at this early stage.

Join us for 10 days spotting in and around Moscow staying around the 3 airports to catch those Russian airliners rarely seen over here. We will also be visiting at least 6 museums and as many of the various wrecks & relics located around Moscow for those of us who like military and civil heritage. We will also be visiting the International Military-Technical Forum (namely ARMY 2021) at Kubinka. It is organised by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defence, so many active military aircraft will be seen.

Some time will be spent at each of the three main airports. The hotels used will be the best ones for location so spotting can be done in luxury.
Domodedovo (DME) base for S7 Airlines
Sheremetyevo (SVO) base for Aeroflot
Vnukovo (VKO) base for Russia State Transport Company, Pobeda & UTair

Russian Air Force base visits are not possible currently due to UK sanctions but we will look at these two big transport bases from outside, Chkalovsky& Yermolino – types to be seen include An-12, An-140, An-148, An-26,
An-72, IL-18, IL-22, IL-62, IL-76, IL-86, Tu-134, Tu-154

So having focused heavily on airliners and military, we also take time out to look at museums and wrecks & relics.

We will visit;
Museum of the Great Patriotic War – Park Pobedy, Moscow
Central Museum of the Armed Forces – Ulitsa Sovetskoi Armii, Moscow
Vadim ZadorozhnyTechnical Museum – Arkhangelskoye, Moscow
Museum of Air Defence Forces – Zarya
Central Air Force Museum – Monino (if still open)
Patriot Park – Kubinka

As per our visits in 2015 & 2017, permission will again be sought to visit the 121st Aircraft Repair Plant Museum at Kubinka

We will also visit;
Khodynka(IL-114, Su-15, Su-25 & Tu-134 on display), Kubina Railway Station (MiG-23 on display), Lyubertsy (Ka-26, Mi-24 on display), Lyubertsky-Panki(Mil Helicopter Plant Museum & Russian Helicopters factory), Mozhaysky(L-29, MiG-15 & MiG-17 on display), Ostafyevo(active An-74s & Yak-42s), Severnoye Tushino(Alexeyev A-90 Orlyonok on display), Shchyolkov(MiG-21 on display), Staryy Gorodok(MiG-21 on display), Selskiy truzhenik(MiG-15 on display), Tushino (An-26, L-29, Mil-2 on display)

Medyn -fantastic 40 Soviet aircraft collection that used to be in Moscow
Myachkovo – general aviation airfield where pleasure flights will be possible

Tour cost is £1500. This includes the flights, nine nights hotel, ground transport, entry into the ARMY expo at Kubinka and all museums. COVID trip cancellation protection provided by Travel Counsellors under the ATOL scheme. Not included in the price is the Russian Visa or food.

I have to assume that you are all fully aware of COVID-19 and the way that this has changed things beyond our control, but some things still need to be pointed out.

COVID is on the rise again here and in many parts of the World with no sign yet of a cure. So of course this trip may not even be able to take place and even if it does, there may be restrictions, cancellations and closures of things when we get in-country that would obviously lead to disappointment. Also to take into account is your family, health and employment.

Anyone travelling at the moment, must be ready to self isolate on return to the UK according to the Government rules at that time. This of course would impact on your family and your employer…..
Please only show your interest if you are fully understanding and accepting of these things. I’m quite proud to say that all my customers got their money back on all the COVID cancelled trips that were due to run this year and that is largely thanks to making sure that the trips were ATOL protectedthrough Travel Counsellors.

Naturally involving a third party increases costs but also gives you and I the peace of mind that money can be refunded, should the trip have to be cancelled. The plan is that everything is included apart from food and spending money.

Get in touch if interested.
