Stans/Bouchs
Took an afternoon drive down to Stans with the intention of visiting RUAG before dark and Pilatus after dark. When we arrived the lights were on in all of the Pilatus halls so we read as much as possible, not an easy task. Walked up and down the various halls with no problem from workers at all. Quite a few Chinese PC12s which sadly had, had the HB- reggies removed and it was difficult to read the c/n due to there being so many aircraft on final assembly or under construction.
The new production hall on the far side of the runway is now in use, producing PC24s and they are very easy to read The PC21 hanger next door is now a maintenance hangar for all Pilatus types, there were 2 older PC24s in here.
From here it was back to RUAG where we read about 50% off as the doors were only just ajar. Just after dark the production hall lights all went off !! so we were very lucky. I presume they operate two shifts here so they may well go back on when the night shift comes in, last year they remained on well after dark.
Reported here prior to my visit were PC12s 1926, 1932, 1935, 1940, 2002 and 2003. I expect some of the older ones are the Chinese ones, any help gratefully received.
