Hi all,
A few more hours were spent at the mound and this morning I had some company. Just two new helicopters for me during this period so you have no need to spend days and days here. The helicopters seems to have several waves of departures, with the biggest one being from early morning, so you have plenty of chance to catch the ones that are active. Your missing ones will either be based elsewhere or on maintenance.

I had a pre-arranged visit at Dundee through Tayside Aviation. Very friendly here, just make contact with them. Most are parked outside but there are a few hangared. AS there are scheduled Logaanar flights from this place, you are only allowed to walk around the general aviation bit.

Quite a bit to be seen at Perth/Scone, so fully recommend that you ask for permission to visit at the various places if you want to avoid being given a no upon just turning up. All areas are friendly.
A friend from our time together at Oxford Bus Company, was in the middle of his commercial pilot training up here, and so he was my personal guide. It was great to catch up and hear his enthusiasm as he chases his dream of flying commercially. It was great to get to sit in a DA42 and have his ‘office’ explained to me. Good luck Mason!

As I was heading towards Kemback and needed to cross over the River Tay to do so, I thought I would pay the former RAF Leuchars a visit. This sparked some old memories of the years I used to take a train up to do the Battle of Britain Open Day. One memorable evening before a show, I had camped in a field at the end of runway 08 and was woken in the middle of the night by the sound of two QRA Phantoms going off. Will never forget that sight and sound.

Last stop of the day and a little time was spent at Edinburgh Airport. Good viewing opportunites are available at the Western end where there are large areas of prepared space (55.943053, -3.383021) which I think a big market must use at the weekends? I wasn’t happy that I could properly see the stored MAX from there and so I would come back the next morning.
